Hi, Today I’m going to show you how to tune up your PC and make Windows run faster. We’ll use some of the best settings to give your computer a noticeable performance boost.
Just a quick reminder: these steps can be a bit risky. If anything goes wrong, you can easily revert everything by selecting “Usual Startup Service.”

Ready? Let’s get started!
1. Stop Background Service
First Stop Unnecessary Background Services
Let’s start with something simple but super effective: shutting down background services you don’t actually need.
This step alone can free up a lot of resources and make your PC feel lighter instantly.
Open System Configuration.
Go to the Services tab.
Check “Hide all Microsoft services” (very important—don’t disable Windows core services!).
Click “Disable All” — except for essentials like CCleaner or Internet Download Manager (IDM) if you use them.
Hit Apply, then OK.
Restart your PC to see the difference.
2. Tune Your Performance Settings
Now that we’ve cleaned up background services, let’s move on to polishing how Windows handles its visuals. Sometimes, Windows tries a little too hard to look pretty—using animations and effects that secretly eat up performance. The good news? You can keep things looking clean and make your PC faster at the same time.
Here’s how:
Open View Advanced System Settings (just search it in the Start Menu—super easy).
-
Go to Advanced → under the Performance section, click Settings.
-
Choose Custom, then tick only the options you truly need:
-
Smooth edges of screen fonts
-
Use drop shadows for icon labels
-
Show thumbnails instead of icons Folder
-
-
Click OK to save everything.
With just these adjustments, Windows will still look neat and modern, but without the heavy visual effects that slow your PC down. It’s basically giving your system a little “visual diet” — lighter, faster, and still handsome.
